Orange Knowledge Programme Impact Award 2020

Call alert - Orange Knowledge Programme

Nuffic is introducing a contest to win an Impact Award for implementers and scholarship holders of the Orange Knowledge Programme.

Who can apply?
It is an open contest for any Orange Knowledge Programme participant: individual or organisation, past or present. We need you to be able to prove you are participating or have participated in the programme.

How to apply?
You need to convince us of why you or your organisation are an impact maker and how you’d like to share your knowledge with others (see What's the prize). You can either nominate yourself, your organisation or someone else.

The deadline for nominations is 13 November at 12.00 hrs (CET).

We encourage you to also send in a motivational video of a maximum of 2 minutes. Please send the video via Wetransfer to

Who’s an impact maker?
People or organisations can make impact on many different levels, in many different ways.

On a personal level, for example, by acquiring knowledge and skills to change the way you work. Or an institutional collaboration project that improves the education system in your country. Or by training others with the knowledge and skills you acquired- creating a snowball effect.

Every Orange Knowledge impact counts. However, we believe a true impact maker engages others. Positive change can be set in motion by a single person or organisation, but it creates impact when it involves and engages other people. As the African proverb says: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

What's the process?
We are putting together a jury with representatives of various backgrounds and expertise. They will be selected from the OKP Advisory Board, the Sounding Board, the OKP alumni, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and we will also add an outsider.

Depending on the number and type of nominations, the jury will decide whether it will award more than 1 person or organisation. In the case of more than 1 winner, the jury will create categories.

We stimulate everyone to come up with a good story to convince the jury of why the nominee is a true Orange Knowledge impact maker and deserves to win the award!

What's the prize?
Apart from the honour of receiving the first official Orange Knowledge Impact Award, we will invite you to do an elevator pitch presentation during the award ceremony at the OKP Partner Day on 26 November. This will be a great PR opportunity, as you will be in front of many participating organisations involved in the programme! We will also share your presentation on our social media.

You will get even more exposure in an article in the online Orange Knowledge Programme Newsletter, which is read by more than 4,000 subscribers worldwide. This will also be shared on our social media channels.

But, there is also a financial reward. You or your organisation can win a grant of a maximum of €5,000, to be used for setting up your own knowledge-sharing event for OKP alumni. Come up with a good idea for that and the prize can be yours!

Please note the rules and regulations for this financial grant.
