Dutch experts and companies have long been convinced that greenhouses offer a solution for Egypt and Jordan. The challenge is to connect Dutch knowledge and technology with the local entrepreneurs.

Experiments in Jordan
Water-efficient greenhouse technology tailored to local conditions is also being experimented with in the wet Jordan. As part of the Dutch aid and trade agenda, the JordanHydroponics Agriculture and Employment Development Project (HAED‐Jo) supported by two entrepreneurs in building and exploiting mid-tech greenhouses. In doing so, WUR-Bleiswijk knowledge from the Netherlands, Spain and projects worldwide applicable to Jordan. Smaller farmers are also experimenting in this country with covered substrate cultivation.
